Two Hearts Letterbox

DeCordova Sculpture Park
Lincoln, Massachusetts

NOTE: Due to construction, this box has disappeared.  We'll have to make a new stamp and rehide the box.  Watch this space for news!

DIRECTIONS: From Rt. 128(95), take the Trapelo Rd exit. Head west toward Lincoln Center.  At the stop sign at Lincoln Center, cross the intersection onto the Sandy Pond Road. The DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park are on the right a bit further down Sandy Pond Rd.

If you come from Rt. 2, turn onto Rt. 126 toward Walden Pond, pass Walden Pond, turn left onto Baker Bridge Rd. Then turn right onto Sandy Pond Rd. to get to the museum.

ESTABLISHED: May, 2000

Parking and the Sculpture Park are free.  In the Museum Store you can purchase a map of the Sculpture Park for 50 cents, but it is not needed to find the letterbox.  The DeCordova gets busy, especially on the weekends, so be discreet finding the letterbox. It is a fun place for kids to play and to have a picnic.  There are concerts sometimes on Sundays during the summer, so you may want to check before going. At the far end of the parking lot are trails to explore that connect to other parts of Lincoln.  There is a posted map at the Trailhead.  Walden Pond is nearby, which you can hike, bike, or drive to. During the summer, Walden Pond can get very congested on the weekends.

Clue:  Have fun exploring the sculptures throughout the park.  Dine when you get hungry for a letterbox.  To the right of the sculpture marking is a small trail. Take it toward the wood fence.  You will see a tangle of fallen trees.  The letterbox is underneath the largest trunk, toward its south end.
